PANTHERS AT MARINES 40-42

The Panthers lost 40-42 in Rome against the Marines and for the second year in a row fails to reach the Super Bowl.

Rome, June 14, 2009 – A long journey and a hot weather conditioned the game of the Panthers. Parma trailed almost the whole game, but never lost contact with the Marines, keeping the score closed.

A missed extrapoint in the first quarter was the difference between the two teams, which played with intensity until the end of the game, with no one able to close the match until the final whistle.

In the third quarter the Panthers seemed able to take the control of the game, but two straight interceptions (one after a tipped ball, another in the endzone on a jump ball) saved the Marines, which converted both turn-over in 2 TDs.
