WEEK-END SCHEDULE

A lot of football this week-end in Parma, with Panthers, Pantere and Flag teams playing in their competitions.

Parma, April 24, 2009 - Saturday morning will take place the Easter Bowl, a yearly flag football tournament for Under 13 and Under 15 categories. Participant teams will be Basiliano (Udine), Verona Chihuahua, Roma Raiders, Martesana (Milano), Gorla Minore (Varese), Grosseto Olimpia 1998 and Parma Panthers. Starting from 10:00am, more than 150 kids will play, trying to reach the finals. At 2:00 every participant will be admitted for a lunch into the "XXV Aprile" field, where Parma Panthers will play a home game against Milano Rhinos.

In fact, the Panthers will try to defend their top spot in the IFL League against the Milano Rhinos, one of the historical teams of italian football. In the 80's the Rhinos were nearly unstoppable, but in the last years they are rebuilding: the last 2 meetings between Parma and Milano endend with an easy win for the Panthers.

Anyway, this time the Injury Report for Parma is very crowded: WR Marco Tunnera (finger), DL Michele Colacino (knee), CB Alessandro Canali (torn ACL), CB Nicola Francani (pulled hamstring), HB Maxim Bulgac (finger) and LB Alberto Lanzoni (went to USA, with Norberto De Angelis for the Route 66 project) are all out.
WRs Craig McIntyre, Emanuele Gavesi and Matteo Grigolo are all questionable, with pulled hamstring.

At least, 2 players were taken off from the Injury Report this week, so Coach Papoccia should be able to line-up LB/HB Ryan Tully and DL Lorenzo Ricci.

On Sunday 26 (kick-off at 3:00pm), the Pantere Parma will face the Ravenna Chiefs, for the Arena League, trying to defend their first place in the league.

At the helm, as ever, QB Tommaso Monardi, with his reliable WR corp and the HB Alessandro Malpeli Avalli, almost ready to play in the Panthers team. DB Marco Munarini should finally be able to play, after a 2 years long injury.
